“The Persistence of Chaos” é il nome di un devastante laptop che un artista aveva messo in vendita per 1,2 milioni di Dollari. Tal Guo O Dong, questo il nome dell’uomo, ha raggiunto il suo obiettivo: l’asta si è chiusa per 1,345 milioni di Dollari, un record se si conta la tipologia di prodotto. Il perché è qui a seguito spiegato: Il PC contiene ben sei malware che secondo alcuni calcoli avrebbero fatto danni per 95 miliardi di Dollari a livello mondiale.
Tra i malware installati al suo interno figura WannaCry, il ransomware che lo scorso anno ha preso in ostaggio i PC anche di strutture pubbliche come ospedali del Regno Unito, ma anche MyDoom che secondo i ricercatori sarebbe uno dei worm che si sono diffusi più velocemente e che ha causato danni per 38 miliardi di Dollari. La lista è completata da ILOVEYOU, SoBig, DarkTequila e BlackEnergy. L’opera d’arte, come riferito da The Verge qualche giorno fa, è frutto della collaborazione tra Guo e Deep Istinct.
